It is recommended that the water be flushed from the pipe before each use, to clear it of any potential lead buildup. Lead pipes that deliver acidic water, would likely yield a lot of lead into the water supply. This situation and condition could be dangerous and would be recommended for treatment and possible pipe replacement.

If it is a concern, it is possible to have a water test performed by a non-bias company located in the metro area. If you want to know if you have a lead supply in your home, look at the supply line coming into the house from the street, and see if it is flared (see pictures). We can schedule partial inspections of your plumbing system, but water testing is more advisable.
