There are any number of home inspection associations and societies offering a variety of training for their members. In some locations, there are licensing and registration laws. While these may sound reassuring to the layman, they are not enough to qualify just anyone to become a HomePro Inspector. Unless a person is willing to undergo much more rigorous training and testing, demonstrate technical competence, conscientious field performance, a strong service attitude and good communications skills, he or she will not become a HomePro inspector.
Our requirements are always rising. The standard inspector training is accomplished through the Professional Home Inspection Institute, an industry leader in developing new and better training programs. The training begins with a series of training manuals, a hands-on school full of equipment and house components that is put together by the Professional Home Inspection Institute. Furthermore, our inspectors gain knowledge through computer-programmed learning and CD ROM Courses in addition to extensive field training. More than a half million HOMEBOOK inspections have been accomplished with seasoned inspectors routinely participating in professional development programs.
